One utility I use to evaluate my gear for dps production is called RAWR.  You can find a browser based version here:

As has been said before.  Gear alone does not a dps make.   Don't forget to look for ways to improve how you use the gear you have.

Thanks for the info raven, i downloaded it last night and started to regem my dps gear on Kal also made some upgrades to gear and WOW what a difference. Made a big improvement, now doin close to 5k dps in 5 mans. Can't wait to see what i can do in a raid environment. With the right buffs and such i should really be kicking some butt. Gonna take a closer look at Kal's tank gear as well.
