Cat Beta Bound

Hey guys, I checked by account management summary page this morning and lo and behold....I was enabled for the Cat Beta.

Others might want to check that basically once a week.  I need to go look to see if I ever got an e-mail.

Anyway, downloaded the client and I've not gotten very far.  Prot warrior tree is certainly compressed but not much really new.  Re-arranged a bit. 

It looks like Sunder Armor only stacks 3 times in Cat.

I just clicked on another player and got a pop-up "tip" dialog that says: "That's another real person playing a character.  You can tell by the blue name above their head."  How enlightening.  I suspect these tip dialogs are gonna get old fast for seasoned players.  So I must find a way to turn them off.  LOL.

Went to Darnassus, but the city itself does not appear to be changed much.  Although, it is rather odd to fly around the city now.

I'll post things of potential interest as I encounter them.

Hoping a few more of us get in here soon so we can arrange some dungeon runs, etc.

Grats Raven. You said you found your beta invite on battlenet where did it show up.

If you go to www.worldofwarcraft.com and use the link to "manage" your account.  Should be on the right side if you scroll down a bit.  Account Management.

Once you log in, click on the "Summary" tab.  It should list for you the games you have tied to battle.net.  You might see an option to "turn on" a trial account for WoW as well.

Just below the option for the trial account I have a indicator that the beta is active for this account.

Oh wow, you can fly INSIDE Ironforge now.

It also looks like the first daily random you do each day will give you a chunk of experience at the end like a quest.  On the order of 33k exp plus 14g.

New profession NPCs can be found in Stormwind which offer daily quests.  The rewards appear to include a skill point, which should make it a bit easier and quicker to skill up.  I assume similar NPCs are in other major cities, but have yet to confirm this.

Old Blanchy is dead.  I'll let you guys check out the scene of the crime on your own.

There are Homeless Stormwind Citizens, Transients and West Plains Drifter NPCs fighting amonst each other in the fields of Westfall.

A settlement with fortifications as sprung up around the tower of Sentinel Hill in Westfall.

The Defias still own the Deadmines instance dungeon, but they no longer occupy Moonbrook - there might be one or two still hanging out but the town is filled mostly with homeless, drifters and transients.

Oddly enough, I can fly inside Ironforge, but still not in Dalaran.

Based on what I've seen so far in the beta.  They'll be doing good if they release by the first week or so of November.  Of course, they might have an army working on this after shifting resources off SC2.  But even then, any time in October might be a stretch.
