Title: There's life on ...
Post by: Stalephreak on July 05, 2015, 07:49:46 AM
Other parts of the PIF interwebs!  I got bored one day and set up a group Skype channel that everybody is welcome to.  Anybody and everybody is strongly encouraged to join the party.  Skype supports, but does not require cam/mic.  Just get a hold of Kailef or myself and we're happy to get you plugged into the group.   Who knows, we may even get a pen/paper rpg going or something?  After all, with this, while we can use it for video games, we can also use it for many other games as well.

I've been really, really itching to play a good pen and paper RPG.  I haven't played a real tabletop RPG in many years.  Over time I became a really big fan of freeform RPGs - Basically pure story driven games that don't rely so much on stats and dice rolling.  I'd totally be down for that.

Anyhow, Skype - I approve.  Skype is a great tool.

I'm not so secretly trying to get Marcus to join us.  He has a fair collection of sourcebooks for Battletech.  He and Soku could probably cook up a killer campaign.  I have "Of Mice, Men, and Wizards", and "Firefly".  We're looking into some other rpgs as well.

I'd love to have Marcus and Soku here in PIF.  I fear that we'd be a little (or a lot) too laid back for them, though.  Because we're so slow-paced I wonder if they would enjoy the environment.  We are definitely not the group that always has people to game with 24/7, you know what I mean?

We also wouldn't be trying to force them to only hang out with us either...

Yeah, we don't have any real restrictions like that.  You can hang out with us without being a PIF member, and you can be a member of PIF and as many other guilds as you want.

In fact, we really only restrict that kind of stuff if we happen to be involved in a heavily competitive game, and even in those cases we're pretty lax.  (And we haven't been in that sort of situation for years!)

I really am feeling like it's time to pull PIF together a little bit.  We've been very spread out for a while now since we backed off of playing SW:TOR.  It would be a lot of fun for us to mess around with a game together or do a tabletop RPG.
