The PIF Silvergate guild is going strong in Classic!

While we're not exactly the huge group that we once were, PIF Silvergate has been having a lot of fun in the newly-released "Classic" version of World of Warcraft.  Sadly in this new era, forums such as ours aren't really frequented like they used to be when WoW first launched.  That's a shame too, because the PIF forums were a truly enjoyable place for everyone to hang out in the past.  Perhaps it's my middle-agedness rearing its ugly head, but I'm going to do my best to rekindle these forums, if I am able to at least.

We've got plenty of veteran members joining us in game, plus some new faces that we've recruited.  Some of these people may even be old PIF members that are using a different in-game name!  I'd like to warmly welcome Divinea, Harlak, Hapeie, Orbiter, Church, and Bee to our ranks.  (Yes, I'm going to call you Bee.  It's too late to change my mind, I'm afraid you're permanently stuck with it)

There's a bunch of other new members that I don't know yet, as well, so if I didn't mention you personally, I didn't mean to skip you, I just don't know you yet!
 :-)  There are 39 characters in the PIF Silvergate guild on the Atiesh server as of this moment.  Some are alts and/or bank characters, but I think it's a great start.

Those of you who are reading this - There are two things I'd like you to do!

#1: In the "Guild" tab, set the public note for your main character to "Main" and for each of your alts, set the note to the name of your main.  You can also add your professions to help others know who to mail their extra mats to.  (I'm going to just be a gatherer, sending my mats to others to increase their skill)

#2: Encourage everyone to come to the forums, sign up, and introduce themselves and their characters here!  I know we don't currently have an application process like we used to, but I still want everyone to have a presence here on the forums so that we can communicate effectively.  Discord is great, but it's no substitute for forums.

As for in game some of us were talking about putting together a guild Tabard.    Kai since you are the Leader would you like to design the Tabard?   i myself would be willing to donate 2g    since it is 10g to create one.    Others said they would be willing to donate towards a tabard.

I'd love to have a tabbard again.  The PIF Silvergate tabbard was designed fifteen years ago, but I'm way too poor to pay to create one right now!  If people are up for donating to create it, I'd absolutely love that!

I'll have to pull up some old screenshots to remember which border we had, but our tabbard was dark blue with the iron cross logo in white.  Looks like a fancy plus sign, basically.  :-)

We actually changed our original guild logo (which you don't actually see on this website, unfortunately) from the old "shield" emblem to the iron cross emblem.  See, during the Beta it was said that you'd be able to upload your own guild logo that would appear on tabbards, so one of our talented members designed a logo for us which we used for a while.  But, when Blizzard dumped the "upload your own logo" plan, we ended up changing our logo on the website to match.  I miss our old guild logo, I wish that we could have had it on our tabbards!  Check it out:

You and Lark have been a huge help on that front.  As of now I think we only have 3 gold left to be able to afford a tabbard. (Of course then we all need to buy our own tabbards and I think they are something like 1 gold each, right?  But still, awesome.)

We've now officially got our guild tabbard, thanks to the help of Krabaxis, Larknight, Innahs and Harlak.  I carefully researched old screenshots to insure that our tabbard is identical to the original PIF Silvergate tabbary that we had at launch, so come - Waste an entire gold (EEEK!) and revel in the coolness!

I love having a tabard again,   it looks soo cool when you turn off your cloak in options that way nothing covers it up.

Me too, it's great.  I really enjoy it.  Plus for me it's the same as we had back "in the day" which gives me a good jolt of nostalgia as well.

Hey Kai. Thanks for the welcome! Really enjoyed being part of the guild since launch, great group of players.

I deleted "Orbiter" but then had second thoughts and reinstated the character. My subscription will now lapse although I will be back. I've quested 4 hours this week and only managed to get a solitary loot drop for a q, can't help but think that there is a better way to spend my time.

Think I'm going to wait until the hype decreases and the honeymoon period subsides.

Hey man, I saw when you left the guild and I was sorry to see you go.  I know what you mean about sometimes feeling like you're on a treadmill and not going anywhere.  Fortunately for me, I don't really care too much about advancing!  I find the game itself to be fun and generally relaxing to just tool around and do the occasional quest, you know what I mean?

We're here and we're not going anywhere, so should you wish to return at some point in the future, just let us know!  (Also, there's always City of Heroes.  That's a super fun game that I'm also playing!)

What classes are in short supply?  I mean, I'm sure I'll recreate Snowblossom, because once an idiot holy priest, always an idiot holy priest.  But IIRC, dwarf not human, this time.

YES!  We get Snowblossom back!  It's a load of fun, good sir, and it'll be great to play WoW with you again.

I was too slow myself - I got Ariyn, but not Kailef or Sprite.  Oh well!

It's mostly the same as it ever was "back in the day" except we're using Discord instead of Ventrilo.  Also I'm kind of swamped lately but I should be able to play this weekend.  At least I hope so...  It's been a really challenging week, it has.
