So, just recently I discovered a game called Chained Echoes, which was released in December of 2022. It's not a multiplayer game, and it's fashioned to look and feel very much like a mid-1990s JRPG, and is especially reminiscent of Chrono Trigger. Despite this (or perhaps because of this) I am really having a blast with this game.
If you were ever a fan of this genre of game, or even if you never played an early JRPG but you'd like to take a chance on something a little different, I recommend giving this game a try. It's refreshingly fun, nostalgic while still being fresh and original. Probably the best classic styled JRPG I've played in the last decade.
