update on wow applications
« on: December 02, 2013, 04:05:51 AM »
Hey!
Just wanted to keep those of you not logging into WoW updated on the new people. Wanderer has moved servers so she is no longer applying for membership. Reckoning he doesn't pay for a regular subscription so he has been on a couple times but not long enough for us to get to know him due to funds, which I believe we all have that issue. Steroids and Angypooboo both have sponsors just need the sponsors to come over and open polls. there are two other people Jon, abbreviated don't know the spelling of the rest, and Niaah have yet to come and open account on the website but hopefully do so sometime this week.

Didnt we change how membership applications work? I don't think sponsors are needed anymore... You guys are running things over there, do you think the application process needs to be simplified?

Flamethrowers are proof that somewhere, sometime, someone thought to themselves "You see those people over there? I sure would like to set them on fire, I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

Yes, I think that it is the main detractor for getting members is having to do the applications, there are so little people playing still. Might need to be reverted back if we get people who are beligerent but didn't want anyone to feel like we are overriding how things have been done.

Our application process has served us well for all these years. We have kept very mature and friendly members. I feel if the process is changed much It would not serve as well. The new officers in charge are very concentious so far about whom they have invited. I also see that a problem is that there is very little activity on the site now. This really saddens me. This site has been our mainstay and even a lot of the inactive players still post.

I am lost. I have gone to look for myself. If I return before I get back, please ask me to wait.

At this point, I figure if we invite someone and they are at least willing to log on to the PIF site and put in an application, that's good enough for now.  What do you guys think?  With the PIF WoW community smaller than it's ever been for us in the past, I don't really think having two sponsors (or any sponsors at all at this point) is necessary - It will just slow down the process.

That said, I still want people to come to the forums here and post an application.  The way I figure it, if someone won't even put in the time to read our charter and post an application, they couldn't possibly be serious about being a PIF member.  I know we are small now rather than large as we once were, but I feel our our primary focus needs to be on quality over quantity.

Opinions?

I discussed it with the other officers, and we agreed. We will invite at our discression, as visitor rank only. to get full membership they must fill out a guild app on the web site.
