Heroic Flashpoints
« on: April 01, 2012, 04:03:45 PM »
Anybody out there interested in running Heroic Mode 4 man flashpoints?

I'm kinda maxxed out on dailies, looking for something for my 50 toon to do, kinda not in the mood for much alting these days.

I can heal or dps.  Pick a night, any night except Thursdays, even then I can do late (i.e. 8:45 PDT and up)

Count me in! I have an inquisitor that can do sub-par dps. :)

Flamethrowers are proof that somewhere, sometime, someone thought to themselves "You see those people over there? I sure would like to set them on fire, I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

That sounds fun.  I want to do the first Flashpoint, what was it called again?  Black Talon, I think.  That would be fun to do at level 50.  My 50 is a tank.

Woot, there's a quorum.  Wednesday night probably would be best for me.  But if you have a preference otherwise, now's the time to say something.

I'm not sure how to tell time in-game.  The clock on the HUD pretty much seems to be my local time (PDT) - is that the server time since it's a west coast server?

I get home from work usually somewhere around 6pm, sometimes a little earlier, so that would be a possible start time, or maybe give me a moment to eat and decompress before I audit the heck out of the poor mobs...so 6:30??

Wednsday nights would work for me!

There is a clock in-game? What time zone is our server based in?

The server is a west coast server. The clock keeps the correct time for where you are. My in game clock is eastern time.

Wednesaday is fine for me as long as it starts no later than 7 pacific.

Cool beans.  I'll shoot for being on by 6:30 Pacific, and we can go from there.

I have some heroic FP's from quests that are on Ilum, so we may want to start with those? I don't know what y'all have queued up.

Also, I have no idea what heroics need unlocking, but I guess we can muddle through together.

Vent, Skype or the other one (I forget the name, I'm at work) voice chat?  Do we have a preference?

I dropped the "other one".  Skype or Vent would work fine, although Vent is probably better unless you want to hear me issuing voice commands to my computer constantly.  *grin*

You can almost certainly fix that by turning off your UAC (User Access Control) if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7.  Alternatively, the "Run As Administrator" command might help.  Failing that, if you're not able to push to talk at all, even when you aren't running Star Wars, I may be able to help with that too.

Alright, Vent it is.

Here's a website with some info on the flashpoints, and what we may need to do to get ready if it's hard tonight.  Scroll down about halfway for the flashpoint info:

http://feature.mmosite.com/swtor/endgame_gearing_guide_for_empire_players.shtml

There are 7, apparently, and it looks like we should do either Black Talon or False Emperor since the end boss of Boarding Party is supposed to be hard.  I'm thinking we start with False Emperor, if that goes well and we have time do Black Talon, and if it goes poorly we drop back to False Emperor normal mode to get some blue gear or something.

What I also read is that 8-man ops are actually easier than the Heroic FP's.  I don't know if we can manage an 8-man but depending on how this goes we may want to think about that.

Also, the heroics have enrage timers, and are apparently more of a DPS check than a healer check, so depending on how y'all are geared out we may want to switch who's healing and who's deepsing.  I have all 3 rakata implants from the dailies, all 51/50 modded gear, and decent stuff off the ah (augmented blues) in every slot.  Gearing *really* helps - I can now solo the heroic 4 Belsavis daily with my tank pet (although it takes forever).
