Major PIF Interface changes

Version 6 of the PIF Interface has been released, this being the first fully tested and stable release since patch 1.7 came out. All PIF members are urged to download and install this new mod compilation as it contains a great deal of bug fixes which dramatically improve your WoW experience. |

New Interface Ready

The latest revision of the PIF Silvergate interface mod has been uploaded and is ready for download. I'm using a self-extracting .7Z file this time, so you just have to double-click it after you download it and it will put the new Interface folder in whatever location the file is in. Then, just delete or rename your existing Interface folder and drag this one in it's place. |

Ventrilo Upgrade

Our Ventrilo hosting company is going to be upgrading their servers from 2.2 up to the new 2.3 version. When that happens, the version of Ventrilo we are all using will cease to function, and all members will need to download and install the new version. As soon as it becomes available, I'll put a link to download it under our Resources section. According to the hosting company, they'll be doing the upgrade some time tomorrow. (Monday) |

Congradulations to Taco, whom has been promoted to the rank of Templar and assigned as our designated raid coordinator. Taco's [Sevensc] duties will include being our ambassador to guilds we are considering allying with for endgame raiding purposes, as well as scheduling, training, and managing our raid events. |

PIF Interface Updated

I've updated the interface to a new version, which is the most stable that I've been able to create to date. It unhappily has seen the removal of a favorite of mine, that being UberQuest, because too many people had technical issues with the quest info failing to appear in the second pane. Good news, though, is I finally found a program that, without any bugs, correctly and accurately tells you which profession each crafting component you find is used for, without having to keep the SEA library installed. Quite nice. Anyhow, the upgrade from the last interface should be almost entirely seamless - You shouldn't even have to change any settings. Just delete the old Interface folder and install the new one. |

Substantial Interface Update

The PIF Silvergate interface has received a major overhaul. After several weeks of testing, we've squeezed the best performance possible out of the available mods and have a new offering available. With the upcoming "official" bottombar and sidebar interface changes coming with the next patch, it is likely that most of the button bar based interface mods will be removed from our next version, but for the time being we've reverted to using Telo's BottomBar, as it tends to generate a lot less slowdown than the BibToolbars set we used in the last mod set. There is only one known bug - We are using an older version of the BeneCast mod, which pops a error message on the screen whenever you enter a new zone or instance. It's harmless, but required as the latest version of BeneCast has too many bugs in it for regular use. Hopefully the next version of BeneCast will solve these issues. |

Next Patch...

Just in case you've been hiding under a rock... *grin* Check this link out to see the changes that Blizzard has planned for the next patch. They've implemented a number of things, including a bar set that looks almost identical to Telo's sidebar and bottombar, and a Quest Minion. All that along with a few badly-needed changes to several classes make me really look forward to the planned changes! |
